Yoko Tonoike Martin 12/10/1944 - 4/14/2020 Visitation Services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Yoko Martin, age 78, on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm - 4pm. Yoko came to Bakersfield, CA in 1963 from Tokyo, Japan with her husband, Tommy Martin. She worked as a registered nurse for 26 years at San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield, CA and Wasco State Prison in Wasco, CA. She loved being a nurse and helping people, that was truly her gift from God. Those who knew her loved her. Yoko was the greatest wife, mom and grandma in the whole world. She dedicated her whole life to her family and the Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and going to church. She was a true example of a Godly woman. Our lives will never be the same without her. Yoko is preceded in death by her mother Mitsu, her husband Tommy, and son Danny. She is survived by her daughter, Shelly, her grandchildren, Steven, Matt, Anthony, Michael, Jeremy, Megan, and JP and many great grandchildren. We Love and Miss You
