Woody was born in Bakersfield, CA. He came to Shafter at the age of 4 to 30740 Burbank St. with his loving parents L. Dee & Rena Bell (Taylor) Wilson.

Graduated Shafter High School 1955 1 year at Cal Poly S.L.O. Married August 19, 1956 to his love, Louise Eva (Lee) Wilson where they made Shafter their home at 30767 Burbank St. for the next 67 years.

Woody leaves behind a loving wife, Louise and 3 children, he was a proud father to Randy (Leann) Wilson, Sandy (Wilson) Kroeker, Keith (Lisa) Wilson.

Woody loved his family, bragged about his 9 Grandchildren who have special memories with his presence at their sporting events and at many family gatherings. Dustin (Hannah), Ryan (Dana), Travis (Amy) Kroeker, Meyer Wilson, Corinne (Justin) Pettit, Brock (Paige V.), Paige Heidi-Lousie, Brenden and Zachary Wilson, just talking about his 12 great grandchildren brought a smile to his face.

From an early age, Woody always had fun with his adventurous hobbies. From showing steers for Shafter FFA at the Cal Expo, Ski boats, hunting/fishing trips to Alaska. He also was a Moto Cross Racing-Member of the Kern County Trailblazers. He had his pilot license and purchased a Cessna 152-in 1975.

He took trips to Kanab, Utah on Side by side exploring the beautiful scenery with Louise-member of AZ-UT-ATV. Woody & Louise bought their 1st of 3 Motorhomes in 1999. Those motorhomes lead them to many memories with their Heartland Motor Home Group. They spent their summers at Morro Bay with special friends. Last trip was September 2023.

He leaves behind his brother-in-law Leroy Kirshenmann, sisters-in-law Joyce (Tom) Vontz, Elaine Muller, Suzanne Orr. His nieces and nephews Pam, Mitchel Wilson, Kenny & Mark Kirschenmann, Emil, Virginia Muller and Jeni Orr. Many Great Nieces and Nephews that loved Uncle Woody.

Preceded in Woody's journey to Heaven, parents Dee & Rena, Wes & Irene Lee (In-laws) Weldon Wilson (brother) Doris Kirschenmann (sister) Danny Wilson, Jason & Justin Orr (nephews).

Please join us in honoring our husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and friend on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Bible Church 350 Pine St. Shafter. Interment following at the Shafter Memorial Cemetery where he will be laid to rest at the end of Burbank Street.
