Wilma Remona Greenlee

Wilma Remona Greenlee “Ma” (September 5, 1938 – February 27, 2026)

Wilma was born in Knox City, Texas, on September 5, 1938, to Mildred Carpenter and Arthur Waldron. She joined the Lord on February 27, 2026, in Bakersfield, California. Wilma and Dale built their lives on faith, family, and hard work. She spent 15 years in Belridge, where she made many lifelong friends. With her husband, she started and ran Greenlee Hay Service and Farming from 1972 to 2008. Wilma also worked at Preston Tire in Shafter for 30 years. Those who knew her best called her Ma. Ma was kind, loyal, and always put others first. She balanced her toughness and strong work ethic with a gentle, soothing spirit. Ma’s cooking was legendary, and her endless generosity defined her. Cheering on her great-grandchildren at their games and events were some of the happiest moments of her life. Ma was truly the most beautiful person. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Shipp; her grandchildren, Shanna and her husband, Joel Gagnon; Chris Shipp and his wife, Kanda; and seven great-grandchildren, Delaney, Logan, Claire, Shelby, Sadie, Miller, and June. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Catherine McCaslin; her beloved son, Alan Greenlee; and her devoted husband of 63 years, Dale Greenlee. The family would like to thank Sherry and Tom Sharp for their love and support. A graveside service will be held at Wasco Memorial Park, 300 Leonard Avenue, Wasco, CA, on Wednesday, March 11th at 10:00 a.m.
