William Lee Riggan was born August 7, 1984 in Bakersfield, California to William Leroy and Lee Annette (Buchanan) Riggan. He was a life-long resident of Bakersfield and graduated from Liberty High School. William lived an active lifestyle and had enjoyed hunting and paint ball, and loved anything that went fast. He grew up working on race cars with his father and helping restore old cars. He raced Hobby Stock at Bakersfield Speedway with Golden Construction as his sponsor. William and his father were currently building a new motor for his restored 1969 Ford Truck. William was a gifted artist and loved drawing and painting for family and friends. He also did specialty custom painting and designs for his restoration projects. William and Jessica LeeAnn Cox were married September 29, 2007. William was working as a truck driver for T & T Trucking and Crane and had been previously employed by Golden Construction. William is survived by his wife, Jessica Riggan; parents, William and Annette Riggan; sister, Aneka Riggan, all of Bakersfield; grandparents, Charlie and Lora Riggan of Lake Isabella and Pearl Buchanan of Coalinga; parents-in-law, Randy & Iva Cox and sister-in-law, Amanda Cox. He was preceded in death by his grandpa Ray Buchanan. Visitation will be held Monday August 11, and Tuesday, August 12 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for William Lee Riggan, age 23, of Bakersfield who died July 29, 2008 in Los Angeles as a result of injuries he received in a motorcycle accident on July 27, in Calabasas. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, 2008 at Shafter Memorial Park at 11:00 am.
