Graveside services under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held Thurs, September 28, at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park following traditional services at the Shafter Russian Molokan Church for William Nazaroff, age 78, of Wasco who passed away September 25, in Shafter. Mr. Nazaroff was born August 30, 1928 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico to Morris and Manya (Milazerdoff) Nazaroff part of the Russian Molokan Colony that later settled in the San Joaquin Valley. He married Tanya Samerin and they moved to Earlimart for a short time before making Wasco their home in 1960. Mr. Nazaroff farmed with his family starting as a young boy and retiring in 2001. He also served as the head minister of the Shafter Molokan Church for 42 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Tanya Sept. 10, 2006 and his daughter, Manya Tolmachoff in 1998. He is survived by his son, Jack Nazaroff of Wasco: grandchildren, Brian & Julie Tolmachoff, both of Fresno; son-in-law, Jack Tolmachoff of Fresno; brothers, David, Gabriel and Pete; and many other loving family members.
