After a courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer, Wendy Anne Rodrigues Cardamone went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 27th, 2014. Our hearts are broken but our spirits have hope in the resurrection of the body with all the saints. Wendy was born August 17, 1964 in Fall River, MA. She graduated from Dartmouth High School in 1982 with high honors. She attended Word of Life Bible Institute where she made lifelong friends. She held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Liberty University as well as her Master of Arts in Counseling. She also held her Registered Nursing degree from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Wendy came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a young girl of 12 through the ministry of summer camp at Word of Life Bible Institute On July 3, 1988 she married her husband of 26 years, Joseph Cardamone. The Cardamones moved to Wasco five years ago where her husband has served as the Pastor of Grace Community Church. Ministry brought them many places as a family, serving in ministry in Norwalk, CT, Plano, TX and Lancaster, MA. Her children were the loves of her life and she cherished her calling to be a fulltime mother. She is survived by her daughter Lucy 20, sons Andre 18, Peter 15, and Anthony 13 and her baby girl Grace 11. She is also survived by her mother Gerry Borba Hawes of Wrentham, MA. Her father and step mother Ron and Lin Rodrigues of Oak Island, NC. Her sister Terry Lynne Collins of Baton Rouge, LA. Her brother Bryan and his wife Pam Rodrigues of Franklin , MA and her brother Mark and his wife Renee Rodrigues of Lakeland, MA and by her sisters and brothers in law, as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Wendy loved many things and she loved deeply. She loved her all her family and each of her children. She loved her friends. She cherished close intimate friendships. She loved gardening and decorating. She loved knitting beautiful gifts for others. She loved baking and serving others in her home. She loved summer camp at Lake Spofford, NH and she loved to read to her children. Above all she loved the Lord God with all her heart, soul and strength. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 3pm at Grace Community Church. In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to the North Kern Christian School scholarship fund, 710 Peters St Wasco, CA 93280.
