IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wayne
Snyder
August 12, 1954 – April 6, 2007
Wayne Snyder was born in Portageville, Missouri, to Floyd and Comeail Snyder on August 12, 1954. The family moved to Shafter in 1957, and Wayne attended the local schools. He married Sandra Hutchison on April 1, 1989. Wayne was an avid Elvis fan! His favorite saying was "Elvis will always be King". Wayne loved to hunt and fish, even though he wasn't great at either, and loved to come home laughing and telling the stories of his adventure. He loved scaring the boys and then would laugh so hard he would cry. Wayne was so very tough on the outside but oh so soft on the inside. He loved everyone he met, but most of all he loved his family. He enjoyed watching the grandkids play sports. His grandchildren were his heartbeat. Wayne was quite a dreamer. His mom used to tell him "You know your real parents were millionaires"; and he had others wondering too. The last few years Wayne had started a new hobby working with wood, and he had become really good; although he never tried to make money doing it because his heart was so big he made things special for family and friends; sharing these things with family and friend made him very happy. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Comeail Snyder; in-laws, Clifford Griffith and Ann Griffith; brother, Eugene Marshal and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Sandi of Shafter; daughters, Stacy Bridges (Jeremiah) of Shafter; Tina Wade (Dave) of Oklahoma; sons, Billy Hutchison (Tosha) of Bakersfield, Tony Snyder (Shannon) of Taft; Donny Snyder of Wyoming; 15 grandchildren; sister, Patricia Haley of Bakersfield; brothers, James Snyder (Pam), Doug Griffith (Kerry) all of Shafter, Randy Griffith (Tammy); Steve Griffith (Sandra) all of Bakersfield; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Wayne will be missed by all who knew him, most of all by his best friend and soul mate, his wife, Sandi Snyder. A special thank you to Will and Linda Hutchison for inviting us into their home for a heartfelt reception following the services. A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at 2pm, for Wayne Snyder, age 52, of Shafter, who passed away April 6, 2007, in Bakersfield. Pastor Dean Long of Shafter Free Will Baptist Church officiated at the service. Please sign Wayne Snyder's guest book at www.goldenvalleymemorialcare.com.
