Warren Lewis Barton Sr., known to everyone as "Hoppy", was born on April 21, 1943 in Arkansas to Warren and Pearl Barton. The family moved to Shafter when Hoppy was 12 years old and he attended Shafter schools. He enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1961 to 1963. He owned and operated a Warren Barton Trucking for over 30 years. He was easy going, outgoing and social; his favorite hangout spot was PAPPY'S. He is proceeded in death by his father, Warren Green Barton and his son, Darrell Barton. He is survived and will be terribly missed by his mother, Pearl Barton; sons, Skipper, Ricky, Eddie and Jerry; one daughter-in-law, Vanessa Barton; brothers, Earl Barton and wife April, Odell Barton and wife Sherry, Kenny Barton and wife Linda, and Darrell G. Barton and wife Allison; grandchildren, Darien, Derrick, Aaron and Brandon; one great-grandson, Kalib Burciaga. A graveside was held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 am at Shafter Memorial Park for Warren Lewis Barton, Sr., age 68,of Shafter who passed away on January 17, 2012 in Bakersfield, California. Visitation was held Friday January 20, from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home Shafter.
