Wanda Mae Gibson was born December 21, 1944, in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Ernest and Lucy Mae (Youngblood) Smith. The family moved to Kern County, California, while she was still a baby. She spent her entire life here. In accordance with her family's wishes there were no services for Wanda Mae Gibson, age 65, who passed away in Bakersfield, August 25, 2010.
