Vona M. Davis passed away peacefully on Friday March 7, 2025 in a private home in Bakersfield, California. She was born March 21, 1942 in Casa Grande, Arizona. She was one of 11 children born to Ernest and Pauline Adkins. Vona later met her husband Floyd Allan Davis Sr. in Mesa, Arizona where they married on January 25, 1958. The couple then moved to Shafter, California in 1963. Vona worked for the Kern County Sheriff's Department in the Lerdo Correctional Facilities where she worked for many years until retirement. Vona proceeded in death by her husband of 54 years, Floyd Allan Davis Sr., and survived by her brother Harold Adkins, sisters Kay Ramey and Joyce Norris, Children, Floyd Allan Jr. and wife Kim, Lynn and her husband Matthew Johnston, David and wife Susan, and Brian (Skeeter) and wife Terri, their many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her heart was full of unconditional love, always willing to put others first. If wanting to say your final goodbyes, a viewing will take place on Monday March 17, 2025 at the Peters Funeral home, in Shafter, California from 3-8pm.
