Virginia F. Presley was born on June 24, 1940, to Myrtle Craig and Calvin Hamlin in Stigler, Oklahoma. She came to California during the Depression and returned to Oklahoma in 1956. She moved to Wasco in 1968, and eventually moved to Bakersfield. Virginia worked as a housekeeper and in personal service running errands and caring for the needs of her clients. Virginia would take any opportunity available to go camping and fishing. She truly enjoyed her grandkids. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Myrtle Hamlin; brother, Harold Hamlin; grandson, Cody Valencia; husbands, Walter Montgomery and William Presley. She is survived by son, Jim Kennedy and family of Aztec, New Mexico, and son, Tim Kennedy of Long Beach, Ca; sister, Joyce Garmon of Bakersfield; several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; grandkids, Bunny and Dan Valencia, Robin and Dustin Eklund and Allen Kennedy. A funeral service will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Friday, June 1, 2007, at 2pm, for Virginia "Jenny" Montgomery Presley, age 66, of Bakersfield, who passed away May 27, 2007, in Bakersfield. Bob Hamlin will officiate the service and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, May 31, 2007, from 2pm to 8pm, and Friday, June 1, 2007, from 9am to 2pm.
