Ms. Virginia Hope Napier, a 87 year resident of California and a 40 year resident of Yucca Valley died on Dec. 29, 2008 at home from natural causes. She was 87 years old. The daughter of Lewis H. and Fern G. (Fleischmen) Lee, Ms. Napier was born Nov. 11, 1921, in South Dakota. Virginia Hope Napier was married to Alex Napier, who preceded her in death. Ms. Napier is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Debby Stephens of Yucca Valley, Calif., son and daughter-in-law Bill and Sheri Herrick of Bend, Oreg., granddaughters Shelly Carrillo of Salinas, Calif., and Kelsey Herrick of Bend, Oreg., grandsons Jason Herrick of Hazlett, Tex., Jeremy Herrick of Cathedral City, Calif., and Tyler Herrick of Bend, Oreg., and 7 great-grandchildren. She retired as an Artist, which he had done all her life. The viewing will be held at Wiefels Funeral Chapel in Yucca Valley on Jan. 1, 2009 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
