Violet Marie Wilke was born on June 3, 1925 in Pueblo, Colorado to Lester and Goldie Neiderhiser. Violet was happily married to Victor Wilke for 48 years. The couple retired to Wasco in 1972. Before that time she worked at Bank of America in San Bernardino and at the Ventura county treasurer's office. Violet felt blessed to have her children and grandchildren as the center of her life, and she lived for them. She was actively involved in church and she was very strong in her faith. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Violet is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor Wilke; a daughter and son in law, Donna and Hank Bloemhof; and a grandson Henry Bloemhof. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Hornbuckle; grandchildren , Sherry and husband Tim Escalante, Michael and wife Laurie Hornbuckle, Dawn and husband Frank Duda, Robert and wife MaryKay Hornbuckle; great-grandchildren, Timmy, Ryan and Nicole Escalante, Alisha and Janel Hornbuckle, Alexis and Allysa Duda, Sydney and Reese Hornbuckle. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held at Wasco Memorial Park on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11 am for Violet Marie Wilke, age 85, of Bakersfield, who passed away October 18, 2010 in Bakersfield.
