Vincent R. Hernandez Was born August 11, 1940 to Lena (Hernandez) and Zeferino Mora in Tulare, California. He attended school in Tulare and graduated from Tulare High. He enlisted with the Army during the Vietnam War in 1964. Vincent and his wife, Josie raised their four children in Wasco, where they lived since 1976, as active members of Grace Community Church. Vincent will be remembered by his family as "Mr. Fix It" around the house, great story teller and a true 49er fan. He enjoyed watching war movies, going fishing and having his family together for backyard BBQ's, he was lovingly referred to as "Papa". Vincent was preceded in death by his mother, Lena in 1951, when Vincent was 11 years old and his father, Zeferino in 1967. He is survived by his loving wife Josie Hernandez; sons, David Hernandez and wife Griselda of Wasco, Robert Hernandez and wife Corinna of Bakersfield; daughters, Michelle Hernandez of Wasco and Ana Lopez and husband David of Wasco;Brother, Tom and his wife Mary of Tulare; sisters, Linda Lopez and Alex of Goshen, CA, Mary Hernandez and husband Jake of Visalia; sister-in-law Virginia Quinonez and husband Frank of Tulare and Mary Sinohui and husband Manuel of Bakersfield; and 13 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held for Vincent Hernandez, age 68, at Grace Community Church, on Saturday February 21, 2009 at 10am.
