Vicente C. Navarrete was born April 1, 1934 to Jose and Maria de Jesus (Cardena) Navarrete in La Piedad, Michoacan, Mexico. He moved to California, settling in Avenal and working as a laborer in agriculture. He moved to Weedpatch in 2004 to be with his family who has been caring for him. He is survived by his brother, Salvador Navarrete; sisters, Julia Navarrete, Margarita Navarrete, Carmen Navarrete, Francis Macias, Josephine Navarrete, Lupita Navarrete, Genoveva Perez and Chuy Perez; nephews and nieces, Hector, Jimmie, Cesar, Tony, Kobie, Hector, Jr. and Emily; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by one sister, Maria Navarrete and his parents. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, August 11 at 1pm at So. Kern District Cemetery, Arvin. Fr. John Schmoll will officiate and interment will follow. Visitation will be held Friday, August 10 from 5pmn to 9pm and Saturday, August 11, from 9am until service time.
