Velma Marie Price age 87, went to the arms of our loving Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was born to the late John & Tela Gorman in Rolla, Missouri in 1927. She came to California as a young girl where she met the love of her life, Melvin Price and were married on May 31, 1947. Melvin Passed away in 1989. Velma is preceded in death by her husband Melvin, parents, John and Tela Gorman, her oldest son Jack, infant daughter, Judy; brothers, Edward, Frank, Eyul, Alfred and daughter in law Valerie. She is survived by sons, Jim (Chris), John (Jana), Janet (Jocko), Jeff (Kristi), daughter in law, Susan; grandchildren, Tina, Jay, Carrie, Lindsey, Sarah, Kiley, Justin, Jennifer, Jessica, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Stacey, Gracyn, numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Ray, Delmar, Donnie, Leroy; sister, Lorraine and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Shafter and Hoffman Hospice for the love and care that they gave to Velma. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at 10am at the Wasco Cemetery. Arrangements are being done by Peters Funeral Home in Wasco. There will be a celebration of life afterwards at the home of Janet & Jocko, 8204 Chaucer St. Bakersfield, CA 93311.
