Veda Delores Mills, 85, of Bakersfield passed away the morning of January 27, 2016 with her son holding her hand. She was diagnosed with cancer in November 2015 and fought her short battle with all of her might. Veda was born in Wasco, CA to Charles and Lucille Galbreath in 1930. Veda lived and attended school in Lost Hills, CA until moving to Wasco. There she attended and graduated from Wasco High School. Veda married Billy Mills in Wasco in October 1950. Two years later their only child, Terry, was born. Veda spent her time as a homemaker, working hard in the various family businesses and joining her husband Billy's many adventures and travels. Around 1993 Veda and Billy moved and built their cabin in Wyoming. In 2007 Veda moved to Bakersfield to be near family. Veda loved family, lifelong friends, her beautiful home in Wyoming, nature, animals and her numerous pets throughout her life. Veda was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Veda is preceded in death by husband Billy Mills, Parents Lucille and Charles Galbreath and brothers Norvel and Verlin Galbreath. She is survived by son Terry Mills (Diana), 7 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
