Ubertino Hurtado was born February 16, 1945 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Nicholas and Victoria (Perez) Hurtado. He came to California in 1987 in search of a better life for his family. Ubertino settled in Arvin and worked in agriculture for Kovacevich Farms and for the Dole processing plant where he was known for being a hard worker. Ubertino loved being with family and going to the park for gatherings during the summer or at his house for barbeques. He had a deep spiritual life and loved to go to different churches to enjoy worship time and prayer services. Ubertino is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carmen; children, Mario Hurtado, Maria Guadalupe Juarez, Delia Bravo, Rafael Hurtado, Gustavo Hurtado, Miguel Hurtado and Maria U. Chavez; brothers, Rafael, Luis, Nicholas, Lionel, Francisco and Juvencio; sisters, Maria and Rosa; and 21 grandchildren. Ubertino was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Moises. Wake will begin Tuesday, May 27, at 4pm at Casa de Oracion & Restauracion, 1409 Mark Street, Arvin for Ubertino Hurtado, age 63, of Arvin who passed away May 23, 2008 in Bakersfield. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 28, at 10am and interment will follow at South Kern Cemetery District, Arvin. Arrangements are under the direction of Arvin Funeral Home.
