Obituary

Truman Lakin was born in Marlow, Oklahoma, to Willard and Allie Lakin, and died of congestive heart failure in Bakersfield, California. Truman was married to Allie Cox Lakin who died in 1991. They left Oklahoma as "Dust Bowl" migrants, and settled in Arvin, California,. where they lived for over 40 years. Truman owned a Blacksmith/Welding business there. Truman's children: Della Luttrell of Colcord, Oklahoma; Freada (and Delmar) Blanchard of Orovada, Nevada; Colleen (and Roy) Price of Dustin Acres, CA; Truman (and Marty) Lakin; and Larry (and Carol) Lakin of Bakersfield, CA. His 12 grandchildren: Glenda, Denise, and Lonnie Luttrell; James and Sherry Blanchard; David and Terry Price; Kim, Lori and Alan Lakin; and Paula and Wendy (Lakin). He also has a passel of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Truman loved hunting and fishing with his sons, a good laugh, dominoes and wood working. Three years ago he confessed Jesus as Lord of his life. He last resided at Evergreen Healthcare in Bakersfield. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Evergreen, Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Frank Chang for the fine care he received. Services will be held in Siloam Springs, Arkansas Arrangements under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, for Truman Lakin, age 96. Interment to be conducted by Wasson Funeral Home 441 W.
