Tony McCurdy was born March 20, 1947 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Preston and June (Pitts) McCurdy. Tony came to California when he was 17 years old. He worked as a mechanic, welder and truck driver; but work was not his life, his children and grandchildren were. Tony loved hunting and fishing; and traveled to Montana, Oregon, California, Washington, Texas, and Colorado to enjoy the outdoors. He always enjoyed taking his grandchildren and great grandchildren camping, he even took his favorite dog, Romeo. Tony McCurdy is survived by his son, Shawn McCurdy; daughter, Toni McCurdy; grandchildren, Nathan and Johanna Armstrong of Bakersfield, Jesse and Ruth Lopez of Wasco, Anyssa and Diego Palamino of Barstow, Gerardo and Noemi Sanchez , and Samantha Sanchez of Wasco, Aaron McCurdy and Brandon McCurdy of Victorville; great grandchildren, Jesse Nathan Lopez, Connor Thomas Armstrong, Liam Elias Palamino, and Jame Lee Lopez; sisters, Cheryl Davis of Redding, Alice Briscoe of Bakersfield; brothers, Terry McCurdy of Bakersfield and Tom McCurdy of Visalia. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10am at Wasco Memorial Park for Tony Lee McCurdy, age 64, of Wasco, who passed away on January 10, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. Pastor Danny Scott will officiate and interment will follow.
