Tomas Gomez was born in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico, on October 31, 1950, to Leocadio and Ignacia Gomez. He married Maria Esquivel on April 29, 1972, in Lequetio, Coahuila, Mexico. The couple moved to Lost Hills in 1993, and he began working for Paramount Farming Co. Tomas loved spending time puttering around his home and yard. He loved animals and had several dogs he tended. He enjoyed his close knit family. Tomas was preceded in death by his parents, Leocadio and Ignacia. He is survived by his wife, Maria; sons, Juan Pablo and wife, Magdalena of Lost Hills, and Juan Carlos and wife, Antonia of Mexico; daughters and sons-in-law, Emilia and Daniel Vargas of Lost Hills, Diana and Antonio Echeveste of North Carolina, Virginia and Fernando Ramirez, and Sandra and Marco Antonio Tapia all of Lost Hills; 15 grandchildren, including his grandson Juan Carlos Gomez, whom he was raising just about since birth. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at 6pm, for Tomas Gomez, age 52, of Lost Hills, who passed away September 29, 2007, in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, October 5, 2007, at 10am, at Our Lady of the Peace Catholic Church of Blackwell's Corner.
