IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas B
Watson
May 26, 1934 – February 9, 2025
Thomas B Watson
May 26, 1934 - February 9, 2025
Thomas Beral Watson, beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at Adventist Health in Bakersfield, California, at the age of 90.
Tom, as he was fondly known, was born in Atoka, Oklahoma, on May 26, 1934, to Uel and Dollie Watson. He was the brother of Barbara (Carl) Vawter, Dean Watson, and the late Bernice, Keith, Ronnie, and Wade Watson. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Longcrier) Watson, his second wife and the late Evelyn (Ratzlaff) Watson, his first wife.
Tom's heart was truly with his family. He was a loving father to Steve, Mark, Roy, and David (Lisa) Watson, stepchildren Roger (Debbie) Longcrier and Elaine Longcrier-Martin. His joy knew no bounds with his grandchildren and he was also a supportive uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on.
In his early years Tom answered the call to serve his nation, enlisting in the Army in 1956 which included serving in Korea from 1957 to 1958. After his military service, he worked tirelessly for the California Department of Corrections until his retirement in 1993.
Tom was an avid reader and gardener. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether camping or fishing. In his spare time, Tom could often be found in front of the television watching anything that had a six-shooter and a ten-gallon hat, especially if it included John Wayne.
By knowing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Tom's faith was essential to him. Tom's life was a testament of his dedication to his faith, family and country. His kind and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of love and devotion, and his memory will forever be a blessing to his family and friends.
The family invites friends to celebrate Tom's life and share their fondest memories.
