Theresse Alma Malstrom of Twentynine Palms, California passed away quietly at home after a long illness on Saturday, September 17, 2011. She was born on March 25, 1942 in Marquette, Michigan to the late Allan and Henrietta (Zinski) Eliasen. She was a 1960 Graduate of Bishop Baraga Catholic High School in Marquette, Michigan and enlisted in the Marine Corps. She retired from the Marine Corps as a Sergeant Major in June of 1986 after serving 26 years. Her last unit served was C&E at MCAGCC in Twentynine Palms, CA. Theresse was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Theresse was predeceased by her husband James Malstrom, and a brother John Eliasen. She is survived by her sister Nanette Koch of Phoenix, Arizona; sister and brother-in-law Paulita and Darryl Korby of Marquette, Michigan; brother and sister-in-law Allan and Loretta Eliasen of Millstone Township, New Jersey; 2 Aunts, Dolores & Mary Zinski of Marquette, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews , and cousins. She also leaves behind her loyal friends and caregivers Warner & Myrna Henry, and Shirley Lewis, as well as her canine companions Annie & Jamie. Memorial Services will be in Twentynine Palms, California at a later date. Care has been entrusted to Wiefels Funeral Directors.
