Graveside funeral services will be held for Theresa Miller on February 21, 2026 at 2:00PM at the Shafter Memorial Park. She will be laid to rest with her husband Gene. The services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home and officiated by the Rev. Scott Allred. Theresa passed away at her residence in Madera on February 15, 2026.

Theresa was born in Wasco, Ca in a water tank house on September 10, 1931, where the family lived. At the age of 10 she contracted TB and was sent for treatment to Keene, Ca for two years. After 18 months she told the doctors that "you think I'm going to die but I'm not" and from that point on did pretty much what she wanted. Six months later they sent her home.

On September 28, 1950 she married Gene Miller. Within a few months she entered cosmetology school to be a beautician. She owned and operated her own hair salon for 60 years finally retiring in 2012 to focus on playing Bingo, traveling with friends and watching her grand kids and great grand kids grow.

Theresa is survived by her two sisters Sandra (Joe) Lewis, Sharon Parker; her son Dennis Miller and his wife Jeri, daughter Cheryl Daley and her husband Tim; Grandchildren Jessica (Robert) Fahey, Anthony (Hannah) Miller, Courtney (Ty) Boesch; Great grandchildren Paisley Fahey, Amelia, Mae and Lucy Miller, and Riley Boesch, who lovingly called her GG and will miss her tremendously; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Boukja Visser, husband Gene Miller, brother Henry Visser, sister-in-law Patricia Visser, and brothers-in-law Pat Parker and Dwayne Miller.

Viewing will be at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter on Friday February 20, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
