After a long valiant battle with cancer, Ted entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 18, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. During his last two weeks, he pushed himself to be present for important family events and for his final visit to the Porwoll family’s favorite destination, Lake Tahoe.

Ted was born on October 28, 1954 to Theodore Frank Porwoll and Norma Jean Christian in Los Angeles. He graduated from Tahoe Truckee High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business while working full-time. Ted spent his career working in logistics and transportation sales management, retiring in 2022 after a 30 year career with FedEx Services.

In 1975, Ted married Cindy Benson and welcomed his oldest child, Ted, III. After that marriage ended, he married Debra Mitchell in 1985 and three more children were added to the family.

Ted was a Christian and a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was an ever-present anchor for his family. Even though he commuted several hours for work, he managed to coach baseball teams, serve as president of Northwest Baseball, ferry his children to baseball, soccer and dance, and he never missed an opportunity to support their endeavors. His dedication carried over to his grandchildren, where his favorite pastime was being at Lake Tahoe and fishing with them. He and Debbie enjoyed hosting holidays and gatherings where he grilled delicious meals in a home filled with love and laughter.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie; his four children Ted Porwoll, III (Jennifer) of Tracy, Alyson Coffman (Justin) of Nevada; Mitchell Porwoll (Andrea) of Virginia; and Amy Porwoll (Andrew Celedon) of Bakersfield; 8 grandchildren William, Claire and Ellie Coffman, Jackson Cordero, Harper and Hailey Porwoll; Theo and Julia Porwoll; his sister, Debbie Welch (Bill) of Bakersfield; sister-in-law Lori Mitchell of Bakersfield; and brother-in-law David Mitchell of Palm Springs.

Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home, 844 East Lerdo Highway on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 4 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 10 a.m.
