Joe was born in Marlow, Oklahoma and moved to Arvin, California when he was 1 year old. He worked as truck driver transporting agricultural products. He worked for various trucking companies and was also a self-employed owner/operator. Joe was a hard worker and worked until the age of 81 years old. Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia; son, Danny; daughter, Sandy and husband John; daughter, Janice; sister, Wanda Beltrami; 6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by parents, Sam Bivins and Esther (Goza) Bivins; son, David; and grandson, Matt. The family wishes to thank the staff of Memorial Hospital, Corinthian Gardens and Gentiva Hospice for all their loving care and concern for our father. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 6 at 1pm at South Kern Cemetery, Arvin for Temple Joe Bivins, age 85, of Arvin who passed away April 30, 2013 in Bakersfield. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5 from 4pm to 8pm at Arvin Funeral Home.
