Teddy Michael Worsham was born November 22, 1944 in Bristow, Oklahoma the youngest of 6 children born to Thomas and Dorothy (Wray) Worsham. The family moved to Shafter in 1946 and Mike grew-up and attended Shafter elementary schools and Shafter High School with the Class of 1963. Mike married Paula Sue Rodgers March 26, 1964 in Bakersfield. Mike was employed as an instrumentation technician in oil refineries and had worked for Tosco Gas & Oil Refinery, Golden Bear Refinery, Baker-Hughes and AC Electric. After he retired he continued to work part-time for Tricor Refinery. Mike was an animal lover; all kinds of animals, turtles, kittens, goldfish and rabbits. He even had a way with wild animals and could encourage squirrels to eat out of his hand. Mike also enjoyed playing pool and restoring old pick-ups. He restored a 1948 Ford Pick Up which was his pride and joy for the last 20 years. Mike was the last of his family and his passing marks the end of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy; brothers, Owenlee Worsham, Junior Worsham, Jack Worsham and Freeman Worsham; and sister, Beatrice Gallaher. Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years, Paula Sue Worsham; aunt, Almalee Rodgers; sons, Bobby Worsham and Bryan Worsham; daughter, Radonna Blan and husband Dave; 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and another one on-the-way; and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 10, at 2pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for Teddy Michael Worsham, age 68, who passed away August 3, 2013. Pastor Steve Mann of the Shafter Church of Christ will officiate. A visitation will be held Friday, August 9, from 4-8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
