Syble Runkles Thompson was born May 25, 1935 in Deering, Missouri, one of four children born to Ross and Mae (Bonds) Chatman. She received her early childhood education in Arkansas and graduated from Parma High. Syble married James Runkles and later Jessie Thompson, both have preceded her in death. She was a homemaker all her life and in later years enjoyed going to casinos and senior citizens' events and bingo. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Mae; siblings, Terrell Chatman and Audene Farmer and Tom Bonds; and one granddaughter, Valerie Fain. Syble is survived by her 5 daughters, Sherri Posey and husband Winston of Arizona, Lana Mashburn of Bakersfield, Melinda Tow of Texas, Donnave Patterson of Bakersfield and Deeana Fain and husband Jim of Wasco; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 22, at 2pm at Shafter Memorial Park for Syble L. Runkles Thompson, age 81, of Shafter who passed away December 18, 2016 in Shafter. Pastor Jim Glasco of the 7th Standard Church of God will officiate the service and interment will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.
