Stanley B. Martin was born May 5, 1930 in Cecil Arkansas to Carroll and Myrtle Martin. Stanley served his country proudly in the navy during the Korean War. He met his wife Frieda and together they raised their children in Buttonwillow. Stanley was a Bus Driver and worked diligently as grounds keeper for Shafter High. He always took pride. Stanley enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and hunting. He passed away on August 15, 2018 in Bakersfield, California. Stanley is survived by his children Tim Martin and Linda Hanshew; grandchildren Steven Hanshew, Andrea Handshew, Jessica Botts (Dalton) and Laura Martin; great-grandchildren Heaven and Seth; brother Bill Martin (Cecila) of Shafter, Bob (Ruth), Harold (Sheila) of Arkansas; sisters Christine Davidson, Artie Martin (Buford) Nancy Teague (Benny) of Arkansas and Willene Ellison of Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; wife Frieda Martin of 69 years; brother Ted and sister-in-law Carolyn of Arkansas; brother-in-laws Ed Davidson of Arkansas and Brent Ellison of Oklahoma. Visitation Service for Stanley Martin will be held on Wednesday August 29, 2018 from 4-8pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Seventh Standard Pentecostal Church of God will hold the funeral service on Thursday August 30, 2018 at 10am. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at Bakersfield National Cemetery at 12:30pm on Thursday August 30, 2018
