Simon Abarca "El Chino" was born in Ayutla, Guerrero, Mexico on February 17, 1976, to Ucario and Creotilde Abarca. He moved to Los Angeles in 1995, living there for one year before moving to Lamont. He married Miriam Sandoval on July 7, 2001. Simon work as a farm laborer for various farmers in the area. Simon loved driving through the mountains on the way to Lake Isabella. He loved soccer and was a referee. Simon enjoyed listening to music. Simon was preceded in death by his parents, Ucario and Creotilde; and his brother, Proto. He is survived by his beloved wife, Miriam; son, Erick both of Arvin; brothers, Galo, Alfonso, Vicente, Amado, Celedonio, Manuel; sister, Clementina all of Mexico. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was conducted at by Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary for Simon Enrique Abarca, age 31, of Lamont, who passed away February 9, 2008, in Lamont. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 1pm. Father John Schmoll of San Agustin officiated the service and interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
