IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Silveria Lopez
Vasquez
January 1, 1935 – November 11, 2024
Silveria Vasquez known lovingly as Chana, was born in Austin, Texas, and spent much of her early life as part of a migrant farm-working family that led her to California. She and her husband, Lupe Vasquez settled in Wasco and built a life centered around love, family, and unwavering devotion to others. Together, they shared 49 years of marriage until Lupe's passing in 2012.
Silveria worked for 18 years as a motel maid at the Wasco Inn Motel before retiring in 1997. Her devotion to the Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was known for her generosity, particularly toward the homeless, and supported many charitable causes throughout her life. Giving to others was not just an action for Silveria—it was her heartfelt mission.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ysabel and Maria Lopez, and her siblings Rodrigo Lopez, Albert Lopez, and Cruz Flores. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Arias (Candelario) and Martin Vasquez (Debra), who continue her legacy of love and devotion.
In addition to her children, Silveria was a second mother to many, including her siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless others who found comfort, wisdom, and guidance in her presence. Her kindness extended to everyone she encountered, and her deep well of compassion and wisdom made her a trusted confidant and caregiver.
Silveria's legacy lives on through her six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory and the profound impact of her love for generations to come. Her example of faith, love, and generosity will continue to inspire all who were touched by her.
