IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley Jane
Anderson
June 21, 1948 – February 9, 2007
On February 9, 2007, Shirley Campbell Anderson, Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, was called home to be with God after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Words cannot express the family's deep sorrow at Shirley's passing. She was cherished and admired for her love, care and concern for not only her family, but her many friends and patients, as well. Born on June 21, 1948, Shirley was raised in Famoso, CA and attended elementary and high school in McFarland, CA. Shirley graduated from Bakersfield College, California State University Bakersfield (CSUB) and the University of California at Davis and Stanford University CSUB Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Cooperative Program. She often expressed her happiness to be of service to her patients and community and enjoyed her work tremendously. During the past 12 years, Shirley worked with Dr. Berry and Dr. Kim and the wonderful staff at Martin Berry, M.D., Inc. Shirley was an avid fan of the theatre and performed in a variety of Bakersfield Music Theatre productions, including: Her most beloved role as "Glenda, the Good Witch" in The Wizard of Oz; Fiddler on the Roof; Annie Warbucks; South Pacific; Hello Dolly; Oklahoma; Bye, Bye Birdie; The Secret Garden; Me and My Girl; Music Man; South Pacific; Big River and Brigadoon. We will best remember Shirley for her very special love for each and every family member and each and every friend – she never forgot a birthday. She was lovingly cared for by Hoffman Hospice and Home Instead and by many wonderful "angels" – her best friend forever, Terry McGee, Peggy, Doris Ann, Cindy, Stephanie, Destiney and Diana. Shirley is survived by her brothers, Glen "Bow" Campbell and wife, Ramona; Donnie Campbell and wife, Sharon; Joey Campbell and wife, Carol; John Campbell and wife, Maria and her sister, Diana Campbell Rice and husband, Thad, as well many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services was directed by Peters Funeral Home with a service at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 769 3rd Street in McFarland, CA on Tuesday, February 13th at 11 a.m., followed by graveside services at the Wasco Memorial Park in Wasco, CA. For all of us who loved and cherished Shirley – we can now say – "Love, from Sparky and Shirley in Heaven."
