In Loving Memory of Sharon Kaye Eskew
July 31, 1944 – February 6, 2026
Sharon Kaye Eskew, lovingly known as Grandma Honey and Mom, went home to be with Jesus on February 6, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by loved ones in Sacramento, California. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and unwavering support touched all who knew her.
Born in Delano and raised in Wasco, Sharon spent most of her life in Shafter, California. She worked as a waitress for many years, where her kindness, hard work, and warm smile touched everyone she met. She never met a stranger and loved to visit, always ready to share laughter and good conversation.
Sharon gave her life to Jesus Christ at Valley Bible Church. Her faith brought her lasting peace and joy, and she loved worshiping her Lord and Savior.
Family was her greatest joy. She was always helping care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren — treating them to fries and shakes at Frosty King, pizza at Little Caesars, or surprises from the store. If you saw Sharon, you likely saw a grandchild right beside her.
Sharon loved music and dancing, especially when listening to her son sing and play the songs he wrote. Her heart was full when he played, and we know she's now dancing joyfully in Heaven.
Sharon is survived by her children LeAnn Russell, Aaron Barnes, and Billy Russell; four grandchildren — Matthew Hanner, Patrick Hanner, Joseph Duckett, and Andrew Duckett; and twelve great-grandchildren who filled her life with love and laughter, and also her brothers Wayne Eskew, Richard Eskew, and sister Karen Olmstead. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Clayborn Eskew, and her brothers, Wally, Jim, and Gary Eskew.
Graveside services will be held on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Wasco Cemetery.
Sharon will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
