Sharon Kay
Campbell
July 19, 1943 – March 18, 2026
The family request that everyone in attendance please wear powder blue & white for the service.
Sharon Kay Campbell, known lovingly as a mom, sister, grandmom, and aunt. She was born on July 19, 1943, in Seminole County, Oklahoma, and passed away March 18, 2026, in Bakersfield, California, after a stroke took her earthly breath away leaving behind a life full of love from her friends and family.
Sharon walked this earth with a steady heart and a steadfast faith, and she served the Lord with word and deed. Her life was a quiet sermon of kindness, courage, and grace, and those who knew her could see her faith was not only spoken but lived.
She built her life around her family, and she did so with strength, wisdom, and laughter. Sharon devoted herself to raising her son and her daughter, and she carried that calling with the mark of love that leaves a permanent mark on generations. She is survived by her daughter Destiney Campbell, her granddaughters Victoria Campbell, Veronika Campbell, Kayla Campbell, and Alexandria Rosenberger, her brother Robert Strand, and her 2 great-grandsons, and 6 great- granddaughters. All the generations in her life have sweet stories to tell. One of her fondest memories to share was the 2 weeks she spent traveling with Destiney, Tori and Veronika in a rented van to Arkansas to visit family. Destiney had been driving all day, and they finally got settled into the hotel at night. The girls had been cooped up in the van all day so they were a little restless and wild. Sharon knew Destiney was tired from driving all day so she told Veronika to get in the bed with her and settle down. Then all of a sudden Destiney hears Veronika say, “I’m in lockdown! Grandmom’s got me in lockdown!” She was always protecting me that way. There are so many cherished memories and laughter with Mom and the grandkids.
Sharon enjoyed going to the beach and sitting on the balcony, listening to the ocean and watching her grandchildren play. She loved Brad's clam chowder. She loved going out to eat at Bill Lees with her granddaughters. She enjoyed watching Westerns and closing her eyes “only during the commercials.” She enjoyed her collection of Barbie dolls, and Boyd’s bears.
She was a fiercely competitive hand and foot player. But yet, her character was loving, funny, and genuine. She loved all her grandchildren with a dedication that did not waiver! She worried about their well-being and always told them to “take care of yourself angel” as she said good bye.
She has been called home to Heaven and has been reunited with her husband Donnie Campbell, her son Bobby Campbell, her parents Mary and Bob Strand.
Though grief now fills the hearts of those who love her and remain, there is a promise shining through the shadow and pain. For we Christians know that death is not the final, closing door, but only life’s brief passing through to everlasting shore. Her earthly race is finished now; her faith has reached home, where Christ receives His faithful child and calls her spirit home.
And so we speak her name with tenderness, respect, and praise, For Sharon’s life still echoes in the love she helped to raise. In every grandchild’s laughter, in each remembered prayer, in every family gathering, her spirit lingers there.
We thank the Lord for Sharon’s days, for all she gave and had, for loving, funny, faith-filled life, and all the joy she spread. Now may her rest be sweet and deep, in heaven’s peace above, Where she is held forevermore in perfect light above.
The family would like to thank Peter's Funeral Home and “Hawaii” Isaiah for turning a difficult moment into cherished memories.
A special thank you to family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers who have loved on us during our loss and pain. Thank you all for the texts, calls, cards, prayers, and food. We are so grateful for everyone's support.
