Saturnino Ramos Nieves was born June 2, 1927 to Pedro Ramos and Anastacia Nieves in Penuelas, Puerto Rico. Saturnino has been a resident of Lamont for the last 35 years. Before retiring he had been employed by Teledyne Corporation as a machinist. Saturnino married Mary L. Morales in Lamont in 1957 and she preceded him in death December 20, 2001. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Lozano. Saturnino is survived by his children, Alice Holmes of Bakersfield, Ronald Lozano of Bakersfield, Steve Uwnauich of Anaheim, Irene Warren of Georgia, and Jeffrey Uwnauich of Chino Hills; brother, Nasario Nieves of New York and sister, Anastacia Nieves of Puerto Rico; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 17 at 10:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Park for Saturnino who passed away August 12, in Bakersfield. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 16 from 2pm until 8pm and Friday, August 17 from 8:30am to 9:30am at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, Lamont.
