Sam Sabala was born in Gregory, Texas on August 15, 1934 to Fabian and Guadalupe (Ysaguerrie) Zabala. Sam and his family settled in Wasco in 1953. He worked as a farm laborer for 35 years. Sam lived for his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events, he also enjoyed listening to the Dodgers games and music at his home. Sam Sabala is preceded in death by his parents and wife Carmen. He is survived by his children, Sam Sabala, Jr., Joe Sabala and wife Cynthia, Patricia Garza, Debbie and husband Stuart Hass, Angelica and husband Robert Hernandez; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 19, at 6:30pm at Peters Funeral Home for Sam Sabala, age 76, of Wasco, who passed away on July 13, 2011 in Delano. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2011 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church. Father John Fluetsch will officiate the service.
