Obituary

Ruthe Belle Neufield was born May 28, 1917 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ben and Florence (Aaron) Morland. Ruth and Wayman Neufield were married and they moved to California in 1936 to the Bakersfield area. Ruth worked as a sales clerk for Brocks, Dunlap's and Gottschalk's department stores. She and her husband were members of the American Cutting Horses and Pacific Cutting Horses. Ruth wrote poetry and was published in the Pacific Cutting Horses Magazine. Ruth was a member of the California Avenue First Assembly of God Church. Ruth is survived by her son, Don Neufield and wife Lynn of Bishop; daughter Wilma Bowser and husband Larry of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Kent Bowser, Wayne Neufield, Nikole Neufield, Shad Neufield, and Rusty Neufield; 4 great grandchildren; honorary grandson, Don Stetson; sisters, Elaine Richardson and Mary Yates, both of Bakersfield and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayman who passed away in 1974, son, Merle Neufield, 6 brothers and sisters and her parents. A graveside funeral service will be held, Friday, December 28, at 2pm at Shafter Memorial Park for Ruthe Belle Neufield, age 90, of Bakersfield who passed away December 22, in Bakersfield. Pastor Ken Burnett will officiate the service. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 27 from 2p to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
