RUTH ELLEN GARRINGER June 1, 1938 – January 6, 2007 Ruth Ellen Garringer was born June 1, 1938 in Burnettsville, Indiana to Joseph A. and Elsie M. (McCleland) Nicholas. She married Robert Eugene Garringer November 9, 1956 and his military service brought them to California in 1955. They moved to Wasco in 1965 where they made their home. Ruth served her family as a homemaker and enjoyed sewing matching dresses for her young girls. She earned her certification as a nurse's aid in 1984 and worked for Shafter Convalescent Hospital until 1995. After retirement she spent most of her time caring for her family and grandchildren then as caregiver to Robert who passed away in 2005. She is survived by her son, Robert Garringer; daughters, Pam & husband Steve Goin of Payrump, Ca. Cindy & husband Danny Adame of Wasco, Ca; sister: Joan & husband Glen Kelley of Monticello, Indiana, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home was held Wednesday January 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Wasco Memorial Park. Pastor Danny Scott of Free Will Baptist Church officiated the service and interment followed.
