Ruby Lee Tatum was born to parents Ansley and Luvenia Simpson on April 22, 1924 in Blossom, Tx. Ruby was raised in Wright City, Ok. and attended local schools. She began working to help the family from a young age; from babysitting to working in the packing sheds and even chopping cotton. Ruby married Wilburn Marion Tatum and the couple moved to Wasco in 1945. She was always an excellent mother to her children. Ruby was always active in Church activities and a long time member at Westside Family Fellowship. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new sites, as well as getting together with the family and cooking some of her specialties for them to enjoy; chicken and dumplings, berry cobbler, cornbread, apple pies and of course her cinnamon rolls were among the favorites. Ruby is survived by her children, Marion and husband Howard Rhine, Judy and husband Dwayne Branch, Sharon and husband Larry McHenry and Danny Tatum and wife Norma; her brothers, Orville and Corville Simpson; 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. Ruby Lee Tatum died at her home in Shafter on December 5, 2016. A viewing was held at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 4-8pm. Graveside services were held at Wasco Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 2pm, and Pastor Jonathan Rhoades officiated.
