Ruben Garza Lopez was born June 3, 1941 in Los Herreras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico one of seven children born to Manuela (Garza) and Julio Lopez. Ruben had been a resident of Wasco for over 50 years and had worked in agriculture as a foreman. Ruben was a happy man and loved to sing and listen to Tex-Mex and Mariachi music. He had a heart for people and a faith in Christ that led him to serve by feeding the homeless. He loved his family, and he was a friend to everyone and was loved by many. Ruben was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Lou Lopez and his parents, Julio and Manuela. Ruben is survived by his son, Ruben Lopez, Jr.; daughters, Leticia Lopez Lara, Lorena Lopez Gutierrez and Ludivina Lopez Vargas; step-son, Rick Lopez; brothers, Abran Lopez and Roberto Lopez; sisters, Ester L. Vargas, Inez L. Longoria, Enedina L. Lozano and Marta L. Rodriguez; 18 grandchildren and 32 grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. A Christian funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 16 at 10am at Westside Family Fellowship for Ruben G. Lopez, age 73, of Wasco who passed away September 11, 2014 in Delano. Pastor Johnny Martinez will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday, September 15 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco
