Royce Jean Rogers, 81, of Shafter, California, passed away on October 31, 2025. Born on July 15, 1944, in Monahans, Texas, Royce was the son of Elmer Rogers and Opal Morgan. Royce is survived by his children Tony Rogers and wife Janet, Danny Rogers and wife Teresa, Jeannie Roark, Wes Rogers and wife Michelle, a sister Nancy Moore and husband Jim, and brother Carl Rogers. He leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen Rogers, brothers Bill Rogers, John Rogers, and half-brother William Rogers.

Royce belonged to the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church and was known for his strong faith in Jesus, readiness to help others, his friendly attitude toward everyone he met, and his devotion as a husband, father, and grandfather. He spent over 50 years working on cars, trucks, and professionally, heavy equipment including diesel & natural gas engines. He had a love for classic cars & pickups, spent countless hours tinkering in the garage, enjoyed making wooden toys for grandchildren, took daily walks of 3-5 miles (always with his stick!), cared for his tomato garden, and never turned down a cup of coffee.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church, followed by a lite meal. There will be no graveside services, but Royce will be laid to rest at Shafter Memorial Park. Peters Funeral Home of Shafter is assisting the family.
