Delain Wilkins was born in Dibble, Oklahoma September 3,1928 to Roy and Lorah Wilkins. He went home to the Lord December 5, 2015 at the age of 87. Delain moved with his parents to Shafter, California in 1939 and never had any desire to live elsewhere. Dee met and married the love of his life, Rosie Cheatwood, in 1948. They had two sons, Larry and Johnny. These two sons gave them six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Delain was predeceased by his parents, wife, Rosie, sister, Nomie Searcy, and three brothers, John, Oda Ray and Raymond. Left to mourn are his grandchildren, Tammy, Juan, Dustin, Brett, Katie and Sarah; all of his great grandchildren; sister, Margie Carroll, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and special friend and companion, Mary Nixon. The family wishes to express a special thank you to his caregiver, Cynthia Chacon, companion, Mary Nixon and niece, Lorah Carroll for their continuous care, love and devotion to Delain. A graveside will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11am at Shafter Memorial Park. A visitaion will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 4-6pm at Peter Funeral Home in Shafter, Ca.
