Rosie was born October 21, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA to Nathaniel Segobia and Della Arvizu. She passed away November 16, 2013 in Bakersfield, CA Her parents moved her to the Arvin area as an infant. She grew up in Arvin and attended local schools. She met Simon Sanchez, Sr. and they married in Las Vegas, October 27, 1951. She owned Rosie's Café in Arvin in the 1970's. Rosie leaves behind her husband, Simon Sanchez, Sr., and their children, Sally Garza, Phyllis Montalvo, Simon Sanchez, Jr. ,Sylvia Sanchez, Sandra Sanchez(deceased), 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and 4 sisters, Velma Arvizu, Christina Soza, Vicky Marmolejo and Della Benavidez. Rosie loved her church, Vinelife Chapel in Arvin. She enjoyed praying for the sick at the hospitals, going to bible study, and playing the tambourine. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Mercy Hospital ICU staff, for their love, kindness and special care given to our mother. Also a special thank you to all of Rosie's family and friends for all the support and prayers. She is now rejoicing with the Lord, forever.
