Rosalie Marie Derry, born August 20, 1935 passed away on September 13, 2013 at the age of 78. She was born in Shafter, California to John and Ruby Sade. She attended Rio Bravo Elementary and graduated from Shafter High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Billy Ray Derry, on February 4, 1954 and were married fifty-six years and raised three children. Her passion was participating in the Shafter Potato/Cotton Festival parade with her grandchildren, in which she won many first place trophies. She was known to many for her first place unique outgoing personality and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Sade, sister, Irene Craun, husband, Billy Derry and son, Gary Derry. She is survived by son Kenneth Derry, wife Cecilia, daughter, Linda Rasmussen, grandchildren, Melissa, Shawntina, Breanna, Christopher, Brittney, Michael, Matthew, and Ryan; great-grandchildren Haley, Elle Mae, Caeden and Nathaniel. Services will be held on Friday September 20, 2013 at 11am at the Shafter Memorial Park.
