Rosalba Gaona Gil 72, of Wasco California passed away early morning at Memorial Hospital on March 30, 2023, next to her loving husband Ramon Gil. Rosie or Rosy, as many of her loving friends and family knew her by, was born October 29, 1950 in Fresno California, to Maria Aguilar Gaona and Venustiano Gaona Cortez.

She was raised in Five Points and spent most of her time in Avenal, Blackwell's Corner, Lost Hills and finally in Wasco California. She was the eldest daughter from a family of 10 living siblings. As the oldest sister, it came naturally to help her parents raise her siblings by working alongside her father and brothers in agricultural. Her professional career was spent on the ranch working for Paramount Farms, currently known as Wonderful Orchards as a Supervisor in the Pomegranate fields. She worked alongside many men and women and was well respected because she was very knowledgeable in her trait and more importantly, was always willing to help the people who worked with her. Although, she was known to be tough, she had a huge heart and would do whatever she could to help train others to be successful. She always had a smile on her face and never failed to offer you a meal, a drink or lend an ear to hear you out. She was known as a wise woman and had no fear to tell you the raw truth which many respected.

During these later months of her illness, Rosie enjoyed watching suspense and romance movies with her husband and her dog Osa who was her big baby. She discovered Facebook and loved seeing her family and friends' pictures and videos because although, it was behind a screen, she felt she was there with them. She loved all her nieces and nephews with all her heart because she saw them as her very own. Growing up, it is no secret that, the nieces and nephews would test her patience and would create chaos when they would visit, by jumping off roofs, touching the fan blades, playing barnyard on her lawn, making a hole in the wall and covering with wet toilet paper, and rearranging her room when she was gone. Boy would she have a choice of words and would instill some fear of "Oh man, we messed up!" as they walked the road of shame when they were caught; these are funny memories of how although, they would test her and she would get them in trouble, she ALWAYS hugged, kissed and received her Niñas y Niños open arms every time they would visit again.

She is predeceased by her parents Maria and Venny Gaona, her brother Lupe Gaona, her brother Emidio Gaona and her sister-in-laws, Lula and Theresa.

Rosie is survived by husband Ramon Gil. Her Siblings and in-laws, Trini & Filemon Angulo, Vangie Gaona & Gilbert Parada, Margie & Brian Young, Thomas & Martha Gaona, Javier & Maria Gaona, Joe & Delinda Gaona and Santiago & Juanita Gaona. Followed by many nieces and nephews, their spouses and their children, ex-coworkers, ex-sister in-laws and friends all of which who love and are grateful of all the blessings that Rosie gave while on earth.

Rosie will be sadly missed by her big dog Osa and her family and friends.

Rosie o Rosy, como muchos de sus queridos amigos y familiares la conocían, nació el 29 de octubre de 1950 en Fresno California, hija de María Aguilar Gaona y Venustiano Gaona Cortez.

Se crió en Five Points y pasó la mayor parte de su tiempo en Avenal, Blackwell's Corner, Lost Hills y finalmente en Wasco, California. Era la hija mayor de una familia de 10 hermanos vivos. Como hermana mayor, fue natural ayudar a sus padres a criar a sus hermanos trabajando junto a su padre y hermanos en la agricultura. Su carrera profesional la pasó en el rancho trabajando para Paramount Farms, actualmente conocida como Wonderful Orchards como supervisora en los campos de granada. Trabajó junto a muchos hombres y mujeres y era muy respetada porque estaba muy bien informada en su rasgo y, lo que es más importante, siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar a las personas que trabajaban con ella. Aunque se sabía que era dura, tenía un gran corazón y haría todo lo posible para ayudar a entrenar a otros para que tuvieran éxito. Ella siempre tenía una sonrisa en su rostro y nunca dejaba de ofrecerte una comida, una bebida o prestar un oído para escucharte. Ella era conocida como una mujer sabia y no tenía miedo de decirte la cruda verdad que muchos respetaban.

Durante estos últimos meses de su enfermedad, Rosie disfrutó viendo películas de suspenso y romance con su esposo y su perra Osa, que era su bebé grande. Descubrió Facebook y le encantó ver las fotos y videos de su familia y amigos porque, aunque estaba detrás de una pantalla, sentía que estaba allí con ellos. Amaba a todas sus sobrinas y sobrinos con todo su corazón porque los veía como propios. Al crecer, no es ningún secreto que las sobrinas y sobrinos pondrían a prueba su paciencia y crearían caos cuando la visitaban, saltando de los techos, tocando las aspas del ventilador, jugando al corral en su césped, haciendo un agujero en la pared y cubriéndolo con papel higiénico mojado, y reorganizando su habitación cuando ella no estaba. Vaya si ella tuviera una opción de palabras e infundiría algo de miedo de "¡Oh hombre, nos equivocamos!" mientras caminaban por el camino de la vergüenza cuando fueron atrapados; estos son recuerdos divertidos de cómo, aunque la pondrían a prueba y ella los metería en problemas, SIEMPRE abrazaba, besaba y recibía a sus Niñas y Niños con los brazos abiertos cada vez que volvían a visitarlos.

Fallecieron sus padres María y Venny Gaona, su hermano Lupe Gaona, su hermano Emidio Gaona y sus cuñadas, Lula and Theresa.

A Rosy le sobrevive su esposo Ramón Gil. Sus hermanos y cuñados y cuñadas, Trini y Filemón Angulo, Vangie Gaona y Gilbert Parada, Margie y Brian Young, Thomas y Martha Gaona, Javier y María Gaona, Joe y Delinda Gaona y Santiago y Juanita Gaona. Seguido por muchas sobrinas y sobrinos, sus cónyuges y sus hijos, ex compañeros de trabajo, excuñadas y amigos, todos los cuales aman y están agradecidos de todas las bendiciones que Rosie dio mientras estuvo en la tierra.

Rosie será tristemente extrañada por su gran perra Osa y su familia y amigos.
