Rosa Lidia Quinonez was born in Agua Caliente, Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico, to Ricardo and Catalina Chavez, on February 26, 1954. She married Clemente Quiñónez on December 1976. The family came to Shafter in 1992. Rosa was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family. Rosa worked for Bidart Brothers, a local apple packing shed for about 10 years. Rosa was a very happy person, she loved music and having festive family get togethers. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Catalina Chavez; sister, Eufrosina "Tia Puchina". She is survived by her husband, Clemente; sons, Clemente, Jr. of Shafter, and Jesus Quinonez and wife, Jennifer of Bakersfield; daughter, Laura Quinonez of Shafter; brother, Lombardo Chavez of Mexico; sisters, Lucila, Maria, Teresa, Guadalupe and Elena all of Mexico; 2 grandchildren, Amy and Michelle Quinonez, and her first soon to be grandson, Chuyito, Jr., due in May; and many other loving family members. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 6pm, for Rosa Lidia Quinonez, age 54, of Shafter, who passed away March 21, 2008, in Shafter. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, March 28, 2008, at 10am. Father Pedro Umana of St. Therese's Catholic Church officiated the service and interment follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
