Rosa Ficara, 85 A service for Rosa Ficara will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 26 in St. Mary of the Valley Church at 7495 Church Street in Yucca Valley. A viewing will take place prior to the Mass at St. Mary's from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mountain Valley Memorial Park in Joshua Tree, with a graveside service Feb. 26. Mrs. Ficara died Feb. 22, 2009, at age 85. She was born July 28, 1923, in Sicily, Italy, and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1968. Mrs. Ficara was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Pellegrino Ficara. She is survived by sons Gioacchino Ficara, Paolo Ficara and Ignazio Ficara, daughters-in-law Rosa, Pina and Roberta, grandchildren Pino and Rachel Ficara, Nino Ficara, Jamie Arrowood, Paolo Ficara Jr., Rosa Ficara, Malissa Sabol, Carmela and Brad Robinson, Maria Anna and Jason Pruette, Jacqueline Ficara, Lisa and Michael Pacheco, Christopher Ficara and Elizabeth Ficara, and great-grandchildren Brenden, Caleb, Anastasia and Isabella.
