Ronald Ray Rice was born October 8, 1963 in Bakersfield, California and passed away April 18, 2017 at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Ron is survived by his mom and dad, Wila Mae and Ray and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ronald attended Bakersfield Junior College and was employed as a warehouse foreman suppling material to the oil industry. When Ron was thirty, he was diagnosed with Von Hipple Lendeau Tumors which he fought for Twenty-three years have multiple surgeries to remove each tumor from the brain and brain stem that was done at U.C.L.A. by Neil Martin. Ron was an avid Nascar and college football fan. He enjoyed playing baseball, volleyball, bowling, swimming and traveling. Ron was also a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Shafter. We would like to thank Megan and Around the Clock for the care that they gave Ronald over the last 14 months. Also, the staff at Memorial Hospital 4-East for their care and compassion they showed for Ronald during his stay. Funeral Service for Ronald will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 11am, First Southern Baptist Church of Shafter followed by a graveside service at Shafter Memorial Park.
