November 16, 1953 — May 31, 2015 Rod passed away May 31, 2015 at home after a brave battle with lung cancer with his wife Peggy by his side. A quiet, hard-working and kind man, he was liked by all who knew him. Rod was a wonderful husband to his wife Peggy, whom he married on March 21, 1992. Rod was employed as the Delivery and Warehouse Manager for Southern Valley Chemical Co. in Arvin, CA for 38 years. He was dedicated to his job and made sure he was the first one there every morning by 5:00am to open up and start the coffee. Rod had a special relationship with his co-workers, and could call many of them close friends. Rod was obsessed with fishing and went every weekend rain or shine. He loved his '97 Jeep Wrangler, ice cold Bud Light, hanging out in his garage, mowing the lawn, George Jones, Twin Lakes, and food, particularly dessert. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Bruun, brothers Wayne Harris, Dick Harris, Tim Langels, and Sisters Inez Fisher and Bonnie Zitzelberger. Graveside service was held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Arvin Cemetery for Rodney Mark Langels, age 61 of Bakersfield. Pastor Mark Mcginty officiated and interment followed. Visitation was held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Arvin Funeral Home from 2-8pm.
