Rod; 84; passed peacefully May 20, 2026; at his home in Bakersfield, California.
Rod grew up in Stratford, California; and attended Lemoore High School. He worked as a cowboy for various ranches and feedlots. Married his first wife, started a family, and settled in Coalinga, California. There he chose a career in the oilfields.
He transferred to Bakersfield, Ca in the late eighties; married his current wife of 37 years; and worked for various oilfield contractors as a Field Supervisor, before retiring in 2006.
He enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching football; but his favorite past time was working cattle. He was happiest when outdoors, surrounded by horses and dogs; leaving behind his current pets; Sully and Dixie. Rod was a straightforward man, conducting personal business with a handshake. Remembered by his friends and family as a “Diamond in the Rough;” he enjoyed country music, a good steak dinner, and fond memories of attending the PBR finals in Las Vegas.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alice Reinhardt, and brother, Allen Reinhardt.
Surviving Rod is his brother, Doug (Mary) Reinhardt; sister, Debra (Kevin) Nugent; and sister-in-law, Darlene Reinhardt. Four children; son, Rodney Bryan Reinhardt; daughter, Tammy Murdock; son, Randy Reinhardt; and daughter Kimberly (Jerry) Laurita. Two stepsons; Calen Wood, and Jansen (Kendall) Wood. He had 11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren.
